Perfect, 2/18/2013

Kim from Michigan

The bare back pad to have. I have a 16h paint gelding, fits him perfectly. I can mount using sturips and it stays in place thanks to quality cinch included. Have had other bare back pads. wish I had this one first. Makes the quick trail ride enjoyable for both of us.

Love one of the Reviews From Bareback Lover, 12/29/2012

Morghan from Ellensburg, WA

Well, obiously from the title, Bareback lover has something to say and i totallly agree about how half of the ppl need help here and about the amazing "mounting block" and the extraordinary "stool"! THE STIRRUPS ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO BE USED FOR MOUNTING!!!!! GET THIS THROUGH YOUR HEAD PEOPLE!!

You people are CRAZY., 12/2/2012

Bareback Lover from No, stalker...

To start, I would LOVE to point out that half of you people need HELP. The stirrups and not made for mounting. They are made for STABILITY. News Flash: There's something called a "mounting block", and something extremely new called a "stool". Get one of them, and be happy. Stop down-grading this product because you don't have common sense! Anyways, this pad is GREAT! I have troubles with other bareback pads because the girth clip things are messed up (Some of them are awkward little clips that look like shark teeth, and you have to flip it to get it off?). However, this one is great! It provides a non-slip environment for my tush. My horse loves it, and my busy schedule loves it! Although, it is pretty expensive. I would love something under $100, but with the quality, it's understandable! (:

Wonderful for low withers, 7/9/2012

Sky from norther CA

Wish I could give it a 5 star rating but... here's what I think of it. Finally broke down and spent the money on this pad for my girthy 6 year old green TB mare. She didn't seem to mind it which surprised me, and made me happy. The most amazing thing is it will NOT slid when you mount! I weigh 145, and have even just stood in the one stirrup for a few seconds to see what would happen. Still remained in place. Pros: Pad doesn't slide at all when mounting. Fits low withered horses great. Very well made, durable and easy to clean. Also I feel confident riding untrained horses in it because I know it will not slide. Cons: Sorta pricey... can't use on high withered horses if you want to post the trot because the stirrups are too far forward. (my mare has low withers so it works fine) Guess if your more of a western rider its ok... I'm a show jumper. For all of you out there wanting a nice comfortable ride, go get a saddle. Its 'bare back' riding! Has just enough cushion, but you can still feel the horse under you, and not get your pants dirty. :)

Some good, some bad points, 6/11/2012

Amy from Argyle, Iowa

The best thing about this bareback pad and why I bought it was that you can use the stirrups to get on the horse. I have a 16hh mare that I love riding bareback since saddling her is a pain but until this pad I couldn't get on her with a bareback pad without climbing on a fence and she is not the best at lining up to the fence and holding still for me to get on. Cons the saddle is not the same color as pictured and isn't the best best quality or very padded. It's very narrow in the back and doesn't lay flat, I can here it rubbing on my horses back while we ride, it needs to be more round and cover more of the back of the horse. I don't think I would purchase it again for the cost of it, but I do like that I can use the stirrups to get on. I also have the Best Friend bareback pad I got for my POA and by far it is better quality and a lot better padding, just no stirrups. They need to make the Best Friend bareback pad with these stirrups.

okay product, 5/25/2012

JL from Amarillo, Tx

This pad is an okay pad. The stirrups are not in a very usable spot, so I had to them. The pad seems to be made of good quality products. It would not stay in place and had to adapt it for a breast collar.

Bought 4 - worth every penny!, 3/20/2012

Tracy from Minnsota

I remember my bareback pad from 1980 - took the stirrups off because if you shifted your weight you better hold on because you were going around the barrel!- This pad is amazing - the grip on the bottom and the girth works great - you can load from the ground and the extra padding is just enough for a long day out on the trail. Highly recommend it.

Excellent Bareback pad, 1/9/2012

Kim from St.Louis, IL

this is the first bareback pad i've owned, after years of hearing that they slide all over, as well as PC illegal to have one with stirrups i was leary, but based on the reviews and my desire to ride bareback with padding i bought it. LOVE this pad, it really does stick, at 130lbs, i can mount with minimal slippage - a person that relies alot on the saddle to mount it would likely slip a lot more. it fits my 16h lightly built/high withered oldenburg well (cinch size too!) he is very happy to ride in it long and low, walk/trot/canter, and great for training lateral movement because you 'feel' every step. my only complaint is that the stirrup ring location puts your leg more forward (western style vs dressage), and it creases right under the seat bones which left me bruised on both sides. HOWEVER I love this pad, its much better than riding on a towel to keep your rear dry, and i imagine with use the creases under me will soften. I would recommend this!

Great Product, 9/9/2011

Karen from BUNKER HILL ILL

I received my pad yesterday, I put on my horse right away. I didnt ride for long but did go around the yard, this pad was very comfortable. I did need help getting on because it slipped on me, but I dont have the strength to pull my self up quick so I pretty much knew I would need help getting on anyway. I am going to love this pad.

Great Product, 8/6/2011

MSBOY from Amory,MS

Received it yesterday, used it today for five hour trail ride. Very comfortable, seems to be very well made. Stirrups make it easy to mount, with non-slip bottom, did not move. Actually preferred it to my 1600.00 saddle. Have a feeling, going to be using it most of the time. Extremely satisfied.

When this pad came in, my boyfriend wanted one immediately - ordering another one right now. I love it, my Arabian loves it, it's put together well, and it doesn't slip.

I love this pad!, 8/2/2011

ualawyer from Killeen, TX

This pad is very nicely put together. It is thick, comfortable and doesn't slide. I rode in this pad for a couple of hours without any slipping or soreness (myself or my horse). The stirrups were too long and manual holes will have to placed (I am 5' tall). Otherwise, a very nice bareback pad!
