HORRIBLE, 1/6/2013

Lauren R from Martinez, Georgia

I bought this pad thinking it would be great for trail riding and swimming at the lake. But it slips over when you try to mount and the lattigo for the girth isn't very efficient. Wouldn't buy this product again. Maybe one of the other ones that come with a girth already atached.

Bareback Pad, 12/30/2012

Horse lover from somewhere,NC

When I got this pad for Christmas, I realized there were some ups and some downs. First, i will start with the ups. It is a very soft and comforatble pad, and comes in very pretty colors. I like that it has a handle and stirrups, which look removable if desired. The downs are two things: the first one is that the buckles are very tricky and it took some time to figure how to work them properly. The second is the girth- it appears to be made of nylon and with the weird buckles it can be hard to make it tight. It does slide a little, but it really isnt that bad...especially if you have good balance. The horse I ride has high withers, but it suits him just fine anyway. Overall it is an awesome pad except for the buckles, and I would definetaly reccomend it to a friend. Have fun with your new bareback pad!!

Not very well designed..., 11/11/2012

Amber K from Ramona, CA

My biggest problem with this is that the buckles are very sharp and rub you and your horse raw. I can't ride in it unless I have half chaps on because the buckles on the stirrups rub you raw and I had to put a sheepskin cover over the girth and pull it over the buckle because it rubbed some skin off my mare's elbow. Also, stirrups on a bareback pad don't make much sense, and it slides a lot if you're not completely balanced (which I guess teaches you balance.. maybe) but they are removable so that's good, and it's nice to have the option. I did use it for a good long time though, and it has lasted. Just beware of those buckles and the fact that it may slide off the the side if you use to stirrups.

Do people not get it?, 9/6/2012

Cait from CA

Come on, people! Bareback pads are NOT supposed to be used with stirrups. Without any semblance of a tree, they will just slide around, creating a dangerous situation. Bareback pads are simply meant to be PADS for riding BAREBACK, thus the name. The stirrups are never functional on ANY pad, and dangerous if a foot is caught, etc. Treeless saddles are different that bareback pads. So please, rate the pad, not the stirrup feature, as any pad you ever buy will be the same. It's a nice pad for the price, soft and comes in some great colors. Perfect for playing around bareback.

Really Bad Bareback Pad!!!, 7/26/2012

Hold Your Horses! from Grangeville, ID

My Mom got me this bareback pad last year. I had asked her for one with stirrups, I thought they would make mount and/or staying on easier. Well, that proved false as soon as I started to mount. The girth was really tight and still the whole pad slid off. I put the pad back on again and asked my mom to help me up. The pad kept slipping off all through the ride so we returned it.

Doesn't work, 5/3/2012

Donkey Rider from Maine

As a donkey owner, it is hard to find a good saddle that works for both me and my jenny. I bought this saddle thinking the stirrups would be good for me; the light weight and flexible pad would be good for her. Like others who reviewed here, I was sadly disappointed. The saddle did NOT stay tight, nor did the stirrups. I never even tried to put my foot in the stirrup becuase I could not trust it! The bugger was that I couldn't get the thing back off either! The donkey got an extra treat for being so patient while I tried to make it work, and the saddle is being returned tomorrow.

Not a good Pad, 4/27/2012

Tough-1 Deluxe Bareback Pad with Stirrups from Winnie, TX

This is not a very good pad. The right stirrup slips, cannot tighten the girth, and the stirrup buckles rub on your leg. Is just collecting dust in the barn.

Don't buy, 2/12/2012

Brooke Robertson from Manchester, KY

Honestly, I thought this would be great. It doesn't even go on tight. I can ride bareback better! It's easier to stay on that way! Stirrups or not. The whole thing slides. Even on my obese horse. :P

AWFULL!, 1/15/2012

Joes Girl from Portland, Oregon

I bout this thinking that it would be amazing to ride with. I was so wrong!.. it doesnt tighten, slips down very easily! the first (and last ever!) time that I rode in this i put a diffrent amount of pressure on one sturrup and the whole thing just went down. I fell off with it and my back still hurts from falling and that was a week ago!! I am ssooo returning it!!
