Working out very well! , 1/31/2013

Amz from Sarasota, FL

I bought this as my first English saddle to be honest I didn't expect it to work out so nicely! I've gotten many compliments at my barn. It's light very durable and I've had no issues with the color rubbing off. I ride in it about 3 to 4 times a week and it still looks brand new. I girth I replaced because the one that came with it was cheap! Other then that it's a great buy for a first time saddle!

Ok for the Price!, 11/29/2012

CircleTack from NW Indiana

Well as you all know you get what you pay for! These are imported as it states and are made of water buffalo hide, not cow leather. So there is a big difference in that. Even the bridle is made with it. I sell these sets as well, and use one for my older children. We have had a black set for over a year now and really havent had any issues with it! The girth needs to be replaced after riding with it for a while. Its a cotton girth with the same material as the saddle. Our sets also include better stirrups and pad at a cheaper cost. We get people who hate them and some who love them! I wouldnt trust them or sell them if they were garbage! As far as us riding in them, I would say theyre a great beginner set! Or for a younger child to learn how to care for their property before getting an expensive one! Hope this helps!

Poor quality, 11/19/2012

THOMAS DANCISON from Leoma, TN

This saddle was purchased 4 months ago, used a maximum of 10 times by 2 seven year old children, each weighing 40 pounds and the flap where the stirrups attach ripped off. Supposed to be made out of leather, but actually pressed cardboard. I guess you get what you pay for

you get what you pay for, but it's a decent saddle, 11/5/2012

cal from silverton

I got this saddle 7 months ago, used it about every other week (because I ride Western mainly), and it's holding up nicely. Its not a high quality saddle by any stretch of the imagination, but the 16inch fits my stocky 14hh POA gelding and me (I'm 5'4, 110 lbs) and it looks fine. I ride in it, jump him in it, and when I get around to it, I'm probably going to do some local shows with it. I've got nothing to complain about because it's durable. The only thing I found annoying is that the color on the underside of the flap is rubbing off and is now brown underneath the saddle. Not affecting the use of the saddle, just appearance. it needed some oiling and conditioner when it came, but after that, it's a well working saddle. I didn't like the girth it came with so I bought a different one (it's not stretchy at all. It's nylon.). The bridle fits him fine (pony size), but it's not high quality. I bought this set for the saddle mainly and I got what I wanted. You get what you pay for in this set and IMO it works well for the beginner or someone dabbling in English riding.

Not strongly recommended , 6/26/2012

Annie from St. Louis, MO

I bought this as my first English saddle. I used it on my 14.1 quater horse and it did not fit him well. After a bit of use, he began taking off in it. Then where my leg rubs on the saddle, the leather turned almost white. It doesn't seem to fit any of my horses and the quality of the leather seems cheap. I wouldn't highly recomend it.

Pretty good., 6/6/2012

Emily from Quater horse girlie.

This saddle is really good but if you plan on showing you might just want to get a bareback pad to ride in more often than this. It is a good saddle but the set colors get rubbed so I ride on my bareback on everything except shows.

Not too great, but..., 5/14/2012

Karen M. from St. Louis, MO

Well to start off, I didn't buy this. My friend who rides at the same barn as me got this as a Christmas gift. She uses the saddle on a Palomino pony, and it fits her wonderfully. I'm not sure of the quality, because I don't use it. The bridle doesn't fit the palomino pony. It's actually(I think) been used on a Thoroughbred mare. The bridle is made for a horse with a long, and some-what skinny face. I use it now on my Mustang mare. It's 'almost' too long on her, but it works. So far I like it, I've only used it once. The nose/chin piece is a bit big, and the bit that's on it is a full-cheek snaffle, and the sides keep getting stuck under the nose piece of the bridle. But I like it. It's fair quality. Good beginner package. As for the girth though, do NOT use it. It's not safe!! I have been told by MANY horse people NEVER to use this kind of girth. Invest in a better girth.

Save Up!, 4/20/2012

Kaytlin from Louisville, KY

I got this saddle because I was in hish need for one and it was all I could afford at the time. Come to find out after 2 weeks, the gullet has already ripped away from the saddle, the bridle snapped in half when I tried to put it on my horse, the "leather" has rubbed off, suede knee roll ripped open, tree is crooked, and the girth is already ripping. Save up and extra !00$ and get a wintec..... ITS WORTH IT!

It Works, 4/8/2012

Brittany from Milwaukee, WI

I received my first of this saddle, and was very disappointed. The leather was dry and actually ripping in spots. I called and complained, and they promised me a replacement. It took a while, but the replacement saddle is ten times better. The leather is smooth and the saddle is put together really well. I don't see it lasting long time, but it works well for what I need it.

HORRIBLE from Hazelton, PA

They sent me the saddle broken, and if the saddle is brooken, it will hurt your horse! Like you may be doing is reading all the good reviews and skipping the bad reviews like I did...DON'T BUY IT! Even if your kids that ride say diffrent, its a horrible saddle. BUY A DIFFRENT BRAND, such as Wintec. Save this 200 dollars!

Perfect 1st saddle set, 3/3/2012

Cam Sanders from Triad, NC

This is a value set, not a work of leather art. It's not supposed to be great - it's supposed to be good. It does its job. The leather is fine. It's a bit stiff but it's not supposed to be top-quality leather. It is, however, a quality product for the price. I recommend it to anyone who is just starting out, or for anyone who needs to tack up on a budget. As others have stated, though, buy a better girth, and you might consider a better snaffle. At this price, those two additional items won't break the bank.

Piece of JUNK, 2/14/2012

Paige from USA

After reading all the reviews I selected to give this a try. Afterall, it had more positive than negative reviews. BIG MISTAKE!!! Cracking leather,RUSTING stirrup bars & irons, and the run around from customer support equal to a 5K. The rusting is a safety issue AND what has excess moisture done to the tree? Now, 3 weeks later my credit card has not been credited in the amount charged although they have the saddle. STAY AWAY FROM THIS SADDLE. I am now test riding a saddle from SmartPack and their customer service is what it really should be. Don't walk RUN from this product. I'd give it negative stars if it was an option. Buyer beware!!!

With patience is a wonderful starter!, 2/6/2012

Kitz from midwest

Take time to slowly infuse lexol into the leather and ride in it often and the saddle might be the only one you'll feel right in. I do not like the feel of oversoft saddles now. We didn't have much back when I began jumping lessons and we settled on a Granada/Silver Fox. That was 30+ years ago. It is being used by my niece now for her 1st english saddle and I found an exact model for $150 (no extras) and use that now. Mine fit my horse perfectly and that was my #1 concern. The skirt over the stirrup bars is more lumpy than I wished at 1st, but I broke in after a couple of weeks. I had bruises for a small time then the saddle reshaped and broke in. I rode a LOT so that combined with careful lexol treatments the leather was super pliable and buttery, nothing like these cheap horrible Pakistani "saddles" on ebay. beware anything out of Illinois from "stallion tack" or their other crap ebay names. If you do go for it and the saddle doesn't work, you can resell it for what you paid, no problem. I do recommend this saddle for beginners, especially if your horse approves! Great price!

My First English Saddle, 12/27/2011

Liz from Erie, PA

I bought this for my qh mare as my first english saddle. I bought it myself and being my age it is a great price. I taught myself how to jump in this saddle. Getting into two-point is very nice and easy. The girth i didn't use was to small for my horse and is flimsy wouldn't trust it. The bridle is also very nice. Over all this is a great saddle to buy. I jump and trail ride in it all the time. Great deal and buy for what you get.

GREAT Saddle and stuff for a GREAT PRICE!, 12/22/2011

PonyPsychotic from Omaha, NE

I got this saddle not too long ago, and I've ridden in it quite a few times, and I love it. I mainly ride Western, but wanted to ride English too, so I got this not expecting much, but the saddle itself is very nice quality and is very sturdy. The leather is still stiff, but I haven't had it long, so I don't know if it'll soften up or not, but either way it's a nice saddle. It's great for anything really you want to do. I event in it. The stirrups and leathers it comes with are pretty good too! The leathers are kind of stiff still, but again, I've not had it for very long. The bridle is pretty big, and the girth is a rope type instead of the stretchy kind. It fits my 14hh POA decently, but a stockier-built horse might need a bigger size. The reins are really long, so I'm planning on ordering some rubber ones. Overall, this was a great buy and I highly recommend it to anyone who's looking to get into English riding, or just needs a lesson saddle for a good price!

Super!, 11/3/2011

Becca from Brockport, NY

I ordered this saddle and got it quite fast, I was expecting a little more from the bridle, bit and girth. Unfortunatly the girth is horrid; the girth is nothing like what it is in the picture, its the rope kind. And don't expect to use the girth unless you have a tiny horse. And for the size of the girth the bridle is HUGE!! I had to get an old english bridle from my sister to be able to ride! The bit is usable but not for my horse(to big). Although there are problems, this saddle is great and I do reccomend it.

Great For The Price, 10/21/2011

marly from Cartersville, GA

I love this saddle. I just started doing english about a year ago and needed a a good starter set. So this was my first english saddle and it did great. I still use it and it's still in perfect shape. A girl at my barn also orderd this saddle and loved it too. Only thing is that the girth is very cheap so i got a new one. I would recommend to anyone looking for a quick and cheap buy.:)

ok saddle, 10/1/2011

Tanah from New Mexico, USA

I got this saddle as my very first english saddle. It is very stiff and gave me a lot of saddle sores. Both of the breast plate hook-ups were pulled out. The leathers pinch and the saddle came in smaller than I expected. It does not come with sturrip pads and it was very hard to find the right size. The bridle is good and lasts for a long time. The reins are strong and comfortable to hold. But if your horse pulls, I recomend riding gloves. Overall an ok saddle. I enjoyed riding it for my first year of english. But I was really happy with the new saddle I found. If you are a begginer, buy some half chaps. This saddle is very painfull until it is broken in.

cheap, but didn't last , 9/26/2011

SWILSON from Osseo, WI

I bought this saddle (a first) for my 11 year old daughter last summer. The flap under the billet has ripped away from the seat and cannot be repaired because of the cheap material used to make it. The stirrup strap keepers have both torn away. (That part was repairable). The saddle did fit the horse and child perfectly. It's a great price, but would have been nice to have the saddle last at least a whole year!

Excellent saddle!, 9/24/2011

Carolina from Knoxville, TN

This is an amazing saddle! Don't let the word "economy" fool you. This is a very beautiful saddle and it as led up for years! I learned to ride English, but I have since switched to western, so when I bought my first horse, I needed a nice, cheap saddle and this one won my vote! Heck, I went on a 20 mile trail on it and I was fine! It is also excellent for jumping. I would buy a new girth, however. It was the only economy thing about this saddle. My horse is raised western, but she still loves the saddle! great buy, I highly recommend!

Personally-i did not like this saddle one bit! Not even the larget girth at our barn fit it on my horse, and shes an in shape paint, nothing big.. And it wasnt even qualified for me to call it 'pleather' it was practically plastic. The bit, i didnt even try on my horse, and it rusted after just being in my car, personally i would NOT reccomend.. =) if your looking for a cheaper saddle..try Wintec! Great brand =)

Good for Narrow Withers, 8/8/2011

Maddy M. from St. Paul, MN

If your horse is really narrow withered this is a good starter saddle, even though the leather is pretty stiff. Don't get it if your horse has really wide withers, like mine. Also the girth is really short. This would probably be better for a pony schooling saddle.

very nice, 8/7/2011

Alex from Pa

This was my first saddle, and it works great! I have a Quarter horse, and this saddle fits wonderfully on her. The bridle isn't the best quality, but it isn't that bad. I have had it for a year, and it is worn out, and it is time to move onto another bridle. The irons are very nice. The only bad thing about this set is the girth. It is very poor quality, and breaks easily. Other than the girth, the set is definitely something worth getting!

Not the Best At all, 7/15/2011

Mollie from Colorado

I got this saddle about a year ago, and the first thing that happened after about 10 minutes of riding in it was that the stirrup leathers snapped. If you get this saddle be prepared to get new stirrup leathers. Also, the girth was wayy to small for my Quarter Horse, so we had to get a girth extender. Just recently the leather connecting the knee roll and the normal saddle has started to rip about halfway down the saddle. I now realize that this saddle was a waste of money and I am now looking for a better synthetic one.

The only thing that I don't like about the package itself is that the girth is very very cheap and didn't fit my horse and the reins that came with the bridle are pretty short but my horse also has a very long neck. I use this saddle to show in and it hasn't stopped me from winning. I even used this saddle one time at an AQHA show. I have had zero problems with the saddle but I did buy it in brown leather because I heard that the black leather looked extremely fake and the black would wear off easily.

not for more than 1x pleasure riding, 6/28/2011

Ponygirl from Frederick, MD

I got the 14" saddle for my 10 yr daughter and her 12.2 athletic welsh pony. She events with him and needed an AP saddle. I knew that this was not going to be the best quality saddle compared to my Crosby CC that she was using, but she needed a saddle that fit her tiny bum and pony. The saddle fits her pony great and also her. Don't ask my why it came with a full size bridle, girth and leathers on a 14" saddle. Anyway I don't think this saddle is going to last her for a year. She ride 4-5 times a week, and does dressage, stadium, and XC. We have had it for a month and the stitching is comming out, looks like it is going to fall apart soon. I knew this was a possibility. This may work for someone who rides 1 time a week but not more than that. I think that we will go with a Wentic pony saddle. They last a while and are water prof. (Her and her pony love the water).

Not the best, 6/13/2011

Maggy from Cabot, Ar

I got this as my first saddle and I regret every second of it.. I wish I had never gotten it... I will be getting a new saddle from here but not this one...I ignored bad reviews and focused on good ones before I got this and I regret it and I recommend you get a different one even if the price is higher and the girth is horrible I had to get a new one.. Hope this helped and don't think im to snobby Im just speaking the truth :)

Alright i guess...., 5/10/2011

MAddie from NH

Looks nothing like the pictures, just got mine, the leather is textured and looks fake, i know this was to be expected but it does have an extreme texture and its not smooth like i expected. overall attractive, but looks extremly narrow (but that could be because it was almost folding in half to cram inside the tiny box they shipped it in)still looks nice for the price, but wish the bridle was padded, of course why would it be for the price? If you can afford a better saddle buy one, but if your like me, 14 and cang buy a $1000 saddle, this will work

VERY NICE SADDLE, 4/25/2011

Paint Crazy from Horse Heaven, MI

This saddle will work well for those of us on a budget who TAKE CARE OF THEIR TACK. This saddle WILL fall apart if not taken care of, as will the $3,000 saddles out there! Obviously the leather isn't going to be great for $160. My aunt bought me this saddle in exchange for training her mare and I have ridden in it for 3 years and it still looks new. This saddle will last and will do a good job if you take care of it! Suggest a new girth, as does everyone else, but other than that everything is very functionable. I have outgrown the one my aunt had bought me and am now looking to buy another one that will fit me (not to mention, my black one isn't very flattering to my gelding) I love this saddle, hence 5 stars all around. Way to go Horse.com!

Wished I didn't buy, 4/2/2011

thunderamb5 from San Francisco, CA

I bought this saddle several years ago. It hasn't fit any horses well I have tried it on. Really poor quality leather. It does have a secure seat. I have been trying to sell it for over 3 years and haven't been able to sell it for even half of what I paid for it. I will probably need to just give it away or donate it. Looking back, I wish I didn't buy it.

I thought this saddle set to be nice, I changed from Western to English. I decided to opt for a different girth, one that makes me feel more secure than a web one. I did need to buy a girth extender (leather, around 10 bucks)for my mare that is more girthy than my gelding. Good set, my first English set since I switched from Western. I really like it.

Good for the price!, 3/24/2011

Sierra from California

I bought his saddle a little over a month ago. When I first pulled it out of the box, I was highly disappointed. The saddle not only looks almost nothing like the picture, but the leather is of horrible quality. It almost feels synthetic! However, it is a comfortable saddle to ride in. It is very easy to post in and gives a secure feeling. I have ridden several 'flighty' horses in this saddle, and I felt locked in. I also love the bridle. Though the snaffle is quite thick, every horse that I have put that bridle on doesn't chew on the bit. It sits very nicely in their mouth, and both the headstall and reins are very soft and ready to use. The stirrup leathers are a tad too long, so I had to wrap them and have them on the last hole. Other than that, the irons are really sturdy and this package is great for the money.

Great for the price!, 2/5/2011

Vicky from Georgia

I bought this in November, so I've had it about three months now, and when I first got it, I was so stressed because I couldn't find a girth that fit!! The billets are really short, and I have a TWH/TB 16hh cross, and he's not too fat, but he does have a swayback. So I understood that he might have needed a big girth with an English saddle. But not a 52"!!! YES, I had to buy a 52" girth to fit my horse because the billets on this saddle are so short. And when I finally could ride in it, (the girth sucks, by the way, and I knew before I bought it it was crap), it was VERY uncomfortable!! After about three weeks of riding in it, it was perfect though! Very easy to jump in and going into two point is so nice! My horse loves it, it fits his high withers perfectly, and it's exactly what I expected for the price. It's not some high brand saddle, but it's WAY better than any other saddle that's the same price. My friends have saddles of the same price, that were also a starter package, but they did not last and are uncomfortable. The stirrup leathers are odd... They are being slowly scraped by the saddle, as I adjust them every time I ride, and the shortest hole is still long. I have to wrap them, AND keep them on the shortest hole. My legs are not short though. Overall, I'd suggest this saddle to anyone! Do NOT buy any other saddle that's a starter package! This is the one! It's pretty, and you still have enough money to get a nice saddle pad, better bridle (this one is very cheap, but it could uphold if you were to have to use it, girth, and bit. (It was too big, I got a 6" O-Ring). LOVE THIS SADDLE!

Great Saddle, 1/27/2011

Nicole from California

I got this saddle for Christmas. It is an amazing price. Fit's my 16.2hh TB perfectly. We've had trouble with English saddles in the past, but not this one. No pinching or anything. Only problems I have are that the holes that are pre-punched into the leather aren't at the right angle for the little metal piece to fit into so I had to make the holes bigger. Other than that it's great. Love the bridle and the bit. It's the first bit my horse hasn't chewed on the whole ride for. The leather isn't the best but for this price and with everything you get it's very much worth it. Plus it looks great on :D

In the middle, 1/20/2011

Laci from Ioaw

I bought this saddle from Stateline and for a first saddle, it is nice. I had to get a new girth for my 15.3 hand QH and knew this as soon as I pulled it out of the box. The saddle is comfortable, but unfortunately it does not fit my QH well and the bit was WAY too big for him. The leather was cracking after the first ride and it scares me to ride in it on trails. But overall, it is a nice buy and on a horse that it properly fits, it is a good buy. Don't expect high quality leather from it though. My saddle looks NOTHING like the picture, either.

Great Set, 12/5/2010

Alix from Pennsylvania

This set it great for my horse. She is a large Quarter Horse mare, and the gullet is wide enough to fit over her withers. I am using every part of the set, except for the girth. The girth is very low quality, and dangerous. It already has a tear in it from only 2 rides. This entire set it amazing, except for the girth. The bridle fit very well, and so with the bit. the bit i received was 5 1/4 in mouth. It fit my Quarter Horse well. This is a great set for shows also. I took my horse to a show in the tack! It is very nice! Pricing very good for such a set!

I ride in the 17 Black at my lessons on 3 horses: Obi, a fat QH, George, a huge QH, and Sneaker, a tiny slim QH. It fits them well and is nice and soft. The leg position with this saddle is forward and it is very easy to post in. If you are getting this saddle, GREAT, just buy a fleece slip for the girth and your ready to ride!

good set, 11/5/2010

trackgirl from Southern Indiana

I bought this set as a transitioning set from western to english. I do prefer it verses western. I got the recommended 18" saddle set but I feel it is too big. I feel like I "swim" in the saddle even though it was said that it 'fit' both the horse and myself. I wish I would've traded in for a 17 inch set. The next set I buy will be a 17". I was told to go 2" beyond a western saddle. My westerns are 16". I listened to others instead of myself, my fault. Love the saddle though. I bought my own girth compared to the offered girth. Glad I did. Very weak looking.

I am 14 and I bought this set with my own money! It is holding out great! The whole set is well worth it. It fits my Quarter Horse mare very nicely, and I have shown her in it too! Bridle fits her very well, and so does the bit. Saddle fits around her whither very nicely, and it is a very comfortable saddle to ride in. I ride at least 4 times a week, and it is holding up very well. It is very affordable, and is well worth it! I would recommend this saddle to everyone who needs tack!

Perfect for the Price!, 9/14/2010

Natalie from

I needed a cheap saddle just to start my colt out out on. He started under a western saddle a couple months ago and, now he needs to learn the specifics and this saddle is perfect for the job. I love the seat, it encourages a good posture and I feel more secure riding in this than I do riding with a western saddle. You are glued and it is so easy to post in. It's even easy on the eye. Things to consider. I can see the stirrup leathers will probably need to be replaced sooner than most would and I didn't use the girth because it looked way too flimsy, or the bit but that was because it was the wrong size. However, even without all these extras this saddle is cheaper than you would pay for most completely alone, even used. And the bridle, saddle and stirrup irons are great. A very good deal in my opinion.

Have this saddle that I bought 10 years ago. Then it came with a string girth that I still use. It was comfortable from the first ride. Still use it on a broad, 24 yr old, Quarter horse. Jump and ride flat and even have loped a few barrel patterns in it. Do not recommend doing that a speed as have killed 2 english saddles running barrels.

I really love this saddle, I bought it for my QH mare who has done western all her life and she loves it!!! She likes how it is so light weight and how she can go faster in it. The flaw was that the first time I used it, one of the stirrup leathers snapped! It still works, but I am going to have to buy better stirrup leathers. Also, the girth doesn't fit very well, it is a little big but my horse is fat! I would recommend this saddle to anyone.

Do your research, 8/3/2010

So I'm reading all these reviews, cracking up because so many of the previous reviews complain that the saddle is too small. One of the women who wrote a review said that she ordered a 15.5 and it was way too small. I would be inclined to agree with her, unless she's under 4'9 and 80 #s. Rule of thumb for novice english converts, take your western size and add 2 inches. For example, I ride in a 15" western saddle and a 17" english saddle. I suspect that these grown-ups riding in children's saddles may have offered a much different review had they previously been educated on this fact.

I love this saddle! i have not used it though. make sure u buy the right seat size because my uncle bought me the wrong seat size and it took a month for the new 1 to come back! Also because I switched sizes they gave me a bigger bit that was really crappy so i suggest u buy your own bit. Plus buy some oil so u can soften the stirrup leather they r as hard as rock! Any way it's a great starter saddle and i can't wait 2 start using it on Saturday!

I am very impressed with the saddle itself. The bridle and girth strap are not great but are serviceable. The girth is too small for my mare, but I would have replaced it with a higher quality girth anyway. EVEN SO this is a great price and a serviceable saddle. The bridle is fine, too, it's just not very high quality but for this price it wouldn't be. I've paid $150 for a bridle and reins all by themselves.

Saddle: The saddle was great!! I loved that it came already oiled and ready to use! For 150.00 i was impressed. I bought this saddle for a schooling saddle because I didnt want to use my show saddle for schooling. It is an amazing saddle! Bridle: The bridle is great too. it is a high quality bridle fits almost all horses. Bit: I don't use the bit because it slids around in my horses mouth but i use it for my other horse and it's nice too. Girth: The girth is the only down part about this set. It is the thinnest girth I havev ever seen so i use a different girth. Overall this is a great set!

I absolutely love this saddle. I was amazed by the quality of the set. I bought this as a second saddle. I bought a Henri de Rivel saddle for 1,300 dollars, and this saddle was so much better. The saddle, bridle, reins, and stirrup leathers are all made of very high quality leather. It should last for a while if properly taken care of. The bit and stirrup irons are great too. The girthis good, but I will be buying a back up girth just to be safe. I love this set, and i recommend it to anyone.

Very pleased, 4/10/2010

Crystal from

I have to say that I am very impressed with the saddle. I was concerned what the saddle would look like for the price, but worth every penny. The girth is on the small side and does not fit my TB gelding, however the saddle fits him good and is light weight. Over all if your looking for new saddle, enjoy the knee pads, this is well worth the money. I would recommend this saddle for anyone who needs an extra, beginner, or just a nice show saddle for 4-H use. I am impressed for the money!

AMAZING STARTER SET, 3/21/2010

Ashley Williams from

I bought three years ago for a beginner english saddle at $150.00. I still use it, but I am now an eventer :) This saddle has seen it all, and done it all! Im now outgrowing it but I recommended it to anyone who has a small budget (e.i. student like myself)

Love this product!, 3/7/2010

Vicki from FL

I bought this product as a western rider looking for a cheap english saddle to ride in and learn to ride english in. I got my package in 6 days and didn't really know what to expect when I opened the box. I saw the saddle and loved it! It's very comfortable and fits my horse (a 15.1hh palomino QH named Nuggett) perfectly! It's beautiful and the leather is a nice quality. The bridle is a bit big, but fits my horse very nicely when everything is on the last hole. The only complaint I have is that the girth is garbage, it has no elasticity at all and your saddle will slip a quiet a bit, so I would suggest purchusing a different girth. Overall I'd say this is a very nice product and would suggest it to anyone.

Amazing, 12/25/2009

Victoria from north branford, connecticut

I just got this for christmas and i knew it was comming. i thought there was no possible way for this to be halfway decent for the price. but i was suprised when i opened it this morning. it was very nice and didnt look cheap at all. the leather is nice and so is the swade on the saddle. the bridle can adjust to very small or very large which is fantastic because then i can use it on all my horses. the sturrips and sturrip leathers are both top quality. the bit is included and if your horse isnt extremly high strong you wont have to order a different one. the only thing i didnt like is the girth. it looks lke its going to fall apart. but overall its amazing, and comfortable. oh two last things, the gullet is wide, so it wont fit an arabian. and merry christmas =)

Great saddle for first timers!, 11/12/2009

Amber from Chesapeake, VA

I wanted to get a comfortable saddle for a good price and i definitley got it! I wasn't sure if i was going to be into riding english because i was so used to western, so i wanted to get an english saddle that wasn't too expensive. When i put it on my gelding for the first time, you couldn't get me out of it! It is so comfortable! I agree, the girth is very poor quality, but the saddle and bridle are great. I definitley recommend this product to everyone.

Right when i got the package i put it on the saddle stand and sat in it, it was so uncomfortable it pinched and i picked a 15 1/2 it is exactly my size in all other saddles this wasnt even close to the right size , I put it on my horse and it made her sweat a ton just from a 30 min work out later that week she got sores on her back dont waste you money on the cheap girth unfitting saddle, awful quality tack set

Fantastic Saddle, 8/21/2009

em from pittsburgh, PA

this is the first saddle i've ever owned and i love it! i actually only use the saddle and not the bridle or girth so i dont really know how good they are except for the fact that i would never want to use the girth. the girth looks so flimsy and low quality. the price is the real reason i got this saddle because i knew i would get the most for my money that way even though the bridle and girth are unused. i', sooo glad i got this saddle its sooooooo comfy and it has fit every horse i've put it on so far. i would most definatley recommend this to anyone in need of a comfortable, good quality saddle.

Tree is NOT Wide, 7/31/2009

I love this saddle, 7/28/2009

Kenna Sorrels from Rolling Prairie, IN

This saddle is very comfortable. It does turn red in some spots, but you get what you pay for. It fits great on the quarter horses and thoroughbreds I ride. I agree that richer people (Who can afford more expensive saddles) would not aprove, but I love this saddle. I would recommend this as a schooling saddle. It is great for jumping.

MCR from California

This saddle is great! but it sits WAY low on my horse. i have to use about 3 saddle pads and a lollypop foam pad to make it fit right. the saddle is very easy to clean and it it is very comfortable for jumping! the only problem is that it has a STRING girth thats what they sent me anyway which is a 38 girth. suggestion: let people have a choice of what size girth they get

Katie from Middletown,NY

This Saddle is okay, but terrible narrow even on my ArabianThroughbred mix. I had to give her a break for a good weak till I found a Theraputic pad to go under it. The girth was terrible so dont expect to be using it, as for the bridle it will last i you arent a daily rider. This is a okay saddle, you just need a theraputic pad to help with the narrow areas.

Ehhh, 3/6/2009

Jennifer from Elk Grove Village, IL

This saddle was ok. The quality was not too bad and leather sort of looks like real leather. It states that the saddle is wide and would fix the average Quarter Horse but it was way to narrow even for my TB. The briddle was very stiff and the girth was very cheap. I guess you get what you pay for.

Mixed Starter Set, 12/12/2008

Elizabeth from Upstate, NY

It is definitely a bargain to get so many items for this price, but I would recommend this set for someone whose horse fits a smalltoaverage size bridle, and whose horse has narrower withers, since both were small for my Appendix QH. I like the look of the saddle, and the textured leather makes it unique. Also note that the saddle flaps are on the small side. Because of that, I had to use a longer girth than usual.

This saddle, bridal, and girth sat is AWESOME! it fits my horse just right!! it does stretch though, which is good if you have a big boned horse. the leather is so soft and easy to clean. i ended up having to buy another girth because it is a rope girth. and its so cool that is came with a snaffle bit. The only problem is that it doesnt come with stirrup pads.

Mine is in the TRASH, 8/16/2008

Charity from AZ

I bought this package so I could ride in my own tack. I thought it would be great to have everything all in one as everyone who buys this thinks. People think they are lucky ones getting a fantastic deal on tack that will fit their horse perfectly. Well, some people need to wake up and check their facts. If you are going to be riding constantly, several times a week of moderate activity level, this is NOT for you. Go and spend a little more on a used saddle and never trust the package deals, no matter how amazing they seem. You could oil all the tack and care for it like it was you child, and the stitching will come out, the leather will rub off, stain whatever touches it, and then leaves a gross golden smear where the stirrup leathers go after a few rides because the dye rubs off so quickly. It is lowquality leather to say the least. The bridle has no padding, as it shows in the photo, the saddle pad it comes with sometimes slips so insanely much and has no protection against the strangelyfitting saddle. The nylon straps to put the girth through broke after walking around for the first time in it for 10 minutes and the saddle pad was on my ponys loins when I trotted a 20 meter circle in the arena. The suede doesnt do much for you. The seat is about as comfortable as sitting on a granite rockshaped saddle. You will very likely get bruises on the inside of your seat bones and on your behind from posting and sitting the trot, even on a comfortable horse. It forces to put your leg in a untraditional position and puts pressure on over 80 of horses and ponies in the wrong areas. I have had this fitted my a saddler to five horses, all very different in size, and the saddler said that the saddle is very strangely shaped, it doesnt fit most horses very well, or it moves a lot during working and slips. I took it to a saddler and they said the equivalent. If you are in a onceaweek lesson program and you are jumping 23 and under, this saddle may be decent for you I recommend a seat cover however and a girth cover, and something to pad the bridle with, and a new set of stirrup leathers and irons. One of my irons cracked after about 10 rides in the saddle and snapped off while I was riding, not noticing that it had cracked. The stirrup leathers may as well be thrown in the trash. They are as dry as the desert, could be drenched and sitting in oil all day with frequent bending and not absorb any of the oil and become less pliable. The metal part in the pommel has pierced out from the pommel and I now have duct tape over it so it doesnt puncture anything on top of it. Not even 50 rides of use, and it is wellready to be in the trash bin. It would be practically abusive to donate it to a lesson program in this state. I have honestly tried everything to keep this saddle ridable and comfortable. If you are looking for a great saddle, find a good used saddle. You can find even a used Steubben that is all ready to ride in and for about this price. It sometimes even comes with its stirrupsleathers! The girth didnt fit my 800 lb petite pony, and it needed many inches to fit a QH gelding. Get a good girth from here, they arent that much. I would never recommend this saddle, or any of the parts to anyone.

This saddle was a very good starter saddle for my students that wanted to try english for the first time. Most of our horses are aqha horses but this saddle was one of the few english saddles that we could use on a bunch of horses we have 53 horses soo its always great to have a saddle that fits a bunch of horses. All of my sudents that tried english stayed in the english discipline and bought this saddle from this company and have had them for about 4 years and they look just like what the did when they bought them.
