Nice reins but too thick from Powhatan, VA
I plan to return these reins because they feel almost twice as thick as all my previous reins (50+ years of riding both english and western). Of course, they are inexpensive which may be the reason for the quality issues. This thickness feels awkard and the leather is not soft. I'd oil them but that probably wouldn't help this issue.

I love these reins! They're very heavy, perfect length, and just the right amount of stiffness. I do tons of "bitting up" and round pen work, as well as suppling, all in a twisted snaffle and these split reins. They're long enough to tie to a cavesson, and long enough to tie to your saddle or through your stirrups for in the round pen. I've had mine for around 4 years now and they're in perfect shape! Great buy!
