I bought this girth for riding endurance, liked it so much I ordered a different size for my other horse. However, after about 10 uses the web sewn on the outside becomes extremely stiff, and causes girth soars. I do not recommend this product for other than arena riding - don't let it get wet with sweat or water, that seems to be what makes it stiff, don't wash it either.

I have a Professional's Choice girth that's probably 15 years old and still in great condition; we use it now for our hunt saddle. I bought that one for a fine skinned mare who would get girth rubs by the middle of show season and I never had a problem after I started using the Professional's Choice girth. We brought our old dressage horse out of retirement last year and by the end of the season, he had some girth rubs. I tried a different, lower priced synthetic girth, but I wasn't happy with that. So we bought this girth and my horse seems very comfortable. I feel that these girths are worth the investment and looking at the quality of the girth, I expect it to last just as long as my other Professional's Choice girth.
