I bought the smaller of the two sizes for my horse. The setup of my run in shed has bucket hooks instead of corner feeders, so I was using a normal water bucket to feed. My horse was having trouble eating all her grain and would leave some in the bottom of the bucket.
This bucket, although not really "tough" quality, accommodates her face better and she is able to finish her grain much easier. She doesn't have to take her head out constantly and bang the bucket around to eat. The small one works just fine for the 4 cups of grain she gets daily and fits her face great. (She's a full size horse)
Not sure how it will hold up over time, but definitely a great idea. Definitely worth a try!

I love the shape of this bucket. Fit my horses head well. BUT, the bucket handle broke soon after I bought it. Then 3 months later, my horse split it almost in half at the handle bracket. It split all the way to where it flatens out on the bottom.

I had this bucket less than 24 hours and my horse got his nostril caught where the handle joins the bucket. He ripped his nostril wide open requiring a $200 vet bill for suturing and antibiotics. Where the handle joins the bucket is in an open U shape creating a pinch/entrapment point. Dangerous product!

I have not had an issues with the handle or the bucket splitting in half. My pony can get his nose all the way to the botom and isn't banging his forehead on the edge! My other horse goes in and beats the daylights out of it and it's still in one piece! No issues with durability!I got mine at Tractor Supply and only paid $9.99!!!!!

I love this bucket but I was shocked when I went into her stall yesterday and it was split clear down the side. Had to duct tape it until the new one arrives. I thought it was indestructible. Wish I had a camera to see how it got broken. The night life of a barn!

At first the buckets were great except for the handles that need to be covered with tape. Then the first time they pushed on them the handles fell out have been thru 2 in the last 3 months. Going back to old faithfuls!

One of my more playful horses broke this bucket in less than a month. The plastic split right down the back. I do like the shape (how it funnels the feed to a small area) and the depth.

Ergonomic design is great. Quality is junk. Didn't last 6 months. Going back to rubber tubs.

I love the ergonomic design of this bucket with a horse's head in mind and was excited to replace all my 10-year old Fortiflex buckets with this new design and bought 8 of them. Big mistake. My Fortiflex buckets are a bit ugly and beat up, but they are safe and they work. These "better" (ha ha) buckets are so flimsily made that they haven't lasted six WEEKS let alone six months or years. The plastic is so thin that it literally tears right off the bucket holders with a light amount of horse bumping. We spend quite a bit of time reinforcing the cracks and tears with first duct tape, and then actually heat welded on plastic patches, but with repeated use, the buckets literally split and tore. The handles ripped out of the plastic, and the handles also had to be crimped shut in a vice to make them safe. I have spent more labor hours on these worthless buckets than I have to spare. What a waste of time and money, and they are all in the trash now, and I am back to by good old ugly round standard fortiflex buckets.

This bucket is great! I used to have a rubber feed pan that sat on the ground for my horse's grain, but he was always moving/playing with it, and it would get full of bedding, etc., and it was hard to clean. Also, if I had to give him bute or any other medication, he would tip the bucket over and pick around the medication. This bucket has fixed those problems. There's no wasted grain and he always gets all his meds!

Why did I not order these sooner? I have no more wasted grain, and nothing gets tossed around. My QH feels so comfortable eating out of them!

For the price I expected a "better buck" design and quality. The handle atachment hardware is cheap and thin. It bends and allows the handle to pop out of the bucket hardware. Then it's next to imposible to get it back in without tools and forcing it back in. My horse had it off the wall in one day with the handle and hardware detached. Bucket was fine but after putting it back together he did it again. Cheap thin plates hold the metal loop on the bucket for the handle to attach and thats what gets pulled through the slots and there goes your handle.

My guy doesn't have to shake his bucket for the feed any more. BUT they do need to work on the handle as it is an accident waiting to happen! Duct tape or electrical, just watch the hooks!

These buckets are not safe. Where the wire handle bends after connecting with the plastic bucket, it? does not pinch shut. One horse at our barn got his nose pinched in it and ripped as he struggled to get free. My horse has got two blankets caught in this "unclosed pinch" and tore them both up. DO NOT buy these buckets.

Only 1 flaw I can find which are the plastic covers on the ends of the handles. Most fell off in just 1 or 2 feedings. I wrapped ends w/duct tape. Other than that, these buckets are great.

This really is a nice bucket; very easy for my horse to get his head in to! However, he really enjoys slinging it around and still manages to dump his feed out. (Which I bought it to fix...)
Either way, I really love the design and plan on using it on my mare as soon as I get him a new bucket!

My horse got to quit pushing her grain around and around and around her round feed pan, and on top of that there seems to be very little waste (from her dribbling) grain. I love this. Bought a large one to begin with and then ordered a small one too.

Thought the idea a great one, though still think the handle could be worked on a little more, as I found my horse's brow still hits off it while enjoying his favorite meal :o)

Horses can't get their faces in the other buckets and they would rub. This is the best idea ever. Very sturdy bucket. Genius!!
