I purchased this saddle for me for Christmas. I trail ride with my partner who is a spotted saddle horse. Like alot of gaited horses,he has a short back. The saddle fit like it was made for him. You could tell he was more comfortable during our rides. Much more comfortable for me too! Love it! Great purchase!

First the good: I bought this saddle for my short, flat backed Haflinger mare. It fits her perfectly. She is quite comfortable in it. The quality of the saddle is far better than I expected. I was pleasantly surprised when I pulled it out of the box how attractive it is. The suede is very comfortable and very helpful with staying in the seat. I'd have to try to fall off. The webbed stirrup leathers are my favorite part. Tons of D-rings and such to hang stuff for the trail. The price for the quality is unbeatable.
And the bad: It is extremely uncomfortable. I normally ride in a high end dressage saddle so I may just be spoiled. Here's why I find this one uncomfortable. It really reminds me of a western saddle. Very flat seat with little cushion for my seat bones and the twist is extremely wide. It honestly feels no different than a western saddle to me. I have a hard time finding one of those I find comfortable too so it may just be a personal preference for me. I bought this saddle hoping it would be like a dressage saddle with poleys but it is definitely not.
Summary: if you like a western saddle you'll probably like this. If you want a dressage saddle with poleys this isn't it.

To make a very long story as short as possible: I intended on buying a saddle directly from Down Under since I had bought 4 saddles from them before and was always very satisfied. Then I saw that this site had this saddle for less, plus marked down even more on sale. Jazz and I could not be happier with this little saddle! It is nicely balanced, comfortable, and light. This is my first venture into synthetic tack and I am loving it! Jazz is hard to fit with his broad shoulders, flat withers, and short, round back. If these guys did not offer the wide option it would have never worked. We are big fans of Down Under Saddle Supply's tack and very excited to see it offered here, too.

I've ridden in this on a few trails now and it hasn't disappointed yet (15+hrs). Very comfortable for both me and my horse, and I sit deep in the seat like velcro. He has the occasional spook or sidestep and I don't miss a beat. He carries me well and shows nice, unhindered movement. Good deal if you're looking for comfort & safety for you and your horse in an affordable package.

Very comfortable to ride! Deep seat feels secure and soft. Underside of saddle is cushioned and moulds to the horse's shape more than other unforgiving saddles I have owned. The 22 inch girth seemed small but the billets are very long. The girth fits all of my horses. A western blanket or all purpose pad worked fine with this saddle. I have not had a need to buy and special pad and I have not noticed the saddle slipping at all yet. I have yet to ride it on hills.

I bought this saddle on a whim, and I am glad I did. It is lightweight, well-made, and the wide tree and soft panels make for a good fit on my Fjords. The saddle sits down on their backs w/o slipping. It rides comfortably and is easy for me to find my balance in. Order up a size if you are between sizes as it measures 1/2 inch small--ie the 18" actually measures 17.5". I am used to riding high end saddles, but I really like this one. It is a super bargain.

I got this saddle in December and was rather skeptical about how good the quality would be. I have to say I was very pleasantly surprised when I pulled it out of the box. It is a wonderful saddle for the price and my TWH mare gaits very nicely in it. As for comfort, you can't beat it. The only thing I would recommend is purchasing fleece covers for the "leathers." Overall this is a fantastic saddle for both horse and rider. I highly recommend it.

This saddle is shorter, for short, fat backed Haflingers! I got the wide and it fit great!
I prefer this saddle to the HEAVY leather Aussie I have! Plus, you stick like glue in the suede seat- nice and deep and secure! I have NEVER been thrown using these saddles over the past 5 years! Before that, I would get tossed occasionally, using a synthetic western. Too loosey goosey. Not this saddle!
I switch out the english style girth for a western w/ convertors. Also, I added endurance stirrups for my old ,weak knees.
For the price, it can not be matched! I even sell my older ones for about the same price I buy them for, so I can get a new one! They do hold up well, tho;)

Got this saddle to be an everyday rider and it looks like it will fit the bill. Not to many frills but well made and looks good. Sugie likes the fit. Comes with a jam up girth. I did replace the stirrups with some aluminum ones because I wanted wider ones, but they are fine. I liked the large poleys which seemed too big at first but helps out alot if you like to ride hard. It's not a cadilac, but a jeep. Well pleased and will buy another leather fancy one later for Sunday riding.

I love the light weight and fantastic comfort of this saddle. All my tack is synthetic and I have never been disappointed. No worries about getting wet, nice look, great overall saddle. My horse also is happy with this saddle. I have used the heavy all leather ausie before and this is hands down better for me!!!
Would have liked english style irons. A+ saddle

These are much better in person than photos show. The material is very hardcore, seat is padded, nylon straps all very nice. Flaps are short like an all purpose, is mono-flapped. Very nice saddle- can't wait to get a stock model too now!
