Hurts horses mouth, 5/20/2012

doubleh from Arizona

I would never suggest getting this bit. It pinches and tears of the top layer of skin at the corner of my horses mouth.

LOVE This Bit, 3/26/2012

2BigReds from SF Bay Area, CA

I just moved my fairly green reiner to this bit from a Jr. Cowhorse and he LOVES it! Takes it much easier than the JCH or his smooth mouth snaffle. The independent side action is great when I need to correct him while schooling. Overall, a great transition bit from a hinged, snaffle-type mouthpiece to a solid one IMO. Only complaint is a small amount of rust, but nothing major and it doesn't seem to affect the functionality of the bit.

Love this bit!!, 3/14/2012

misskimbalina from Franklinton, LA

I have tried everything on my MFT, and this is the first time he really settled and moved out great. He responded so well, I tried it on my QH mare who I ride in a hack...great response! My 3 year-old grandchild rides her and has much better control with this bit. Also great for turning and bending because the bit is hinged under the roller so each shank moves independently. That part was a pleasant surprise. No rust yet, but I've only had it a week. I did read in other reviews that it may rust. Overall I think this is a great bit and certainly worth the price...just keep it clean and dry to avoid the rust...:)

Not to bad, 10/29/2010

Patty Moon from Pinellas Park, FL

I purchased this but because it had a port and the sides move. I seem to get a good response from my mare with it but it some times pinches her so I had to put bit guards on it. Other than that its great. Although, it started to rust almost right away. That is probably the biggest annoyance for me.

Great bit!, 9/17/2010

Mary from

This bit is great, I get very good response out of my mare and I barely have to pick up on the reins. My mare loves this bit with the copper roller, sweet iron, and inlays.

I really like the way my mare goes in this bit. The only thing I dont like is that it started to rust with in the first month.

Great bit, 4/1/2010

Lmuecke from

This is a great bit. I like the way it gives a good gentle single by being split AND ported. My horses hate snaffle bits (so do I) of any kind and have never responded well to them, even as colts. They are both over 17 now and both much prefer a ported bit, I think they like the way they can lift it with their tongue and get it off their gums when riding, giving their mouths that comfort of not having it sitting on their gums all the time. This bit is the best of both worlds for them. I can give individual signals and they get the comfort they like. Great, Great bit.
