A mixed bag, 9/7/2009

Diane from Virginia Beach, VA

These reins are a great idea and work wonders for hand placement, but I've bought two pairs now because they become sticky in a year or so--so sticky that they melt onto gloves and other tack. I also can't find a way to get them really clean. For a year's use at $22, they are well worth it, but don't pay $38 for them at a tack store like I did. I must say, my kids loved them.

Clean-up important!, 6/8/2009

Malinda Smith from Greenbrier, AR

These reins are especially helpful with youth learning hand placement because they have a visual cue of color. But reins do become tacky if exposed to horse spray or other chemicals. They will last a lot longer if you wipe them down or clean them after each ride.

These were good when I used them in the winter, but once summer came around they melted in my hands.
